Abby was delivered by c-section on September 21, 2007. She was the product of a long planned breeding of her mom, Luna, to Kobe (CH MACH Prospect's Slam Dunk UD RE MH MXP8 MJP6 PAX2), a yellow dog from California who demonstrated excellence in all areas. Kobe is a conformation champion, an agility champion, and has the highest level performance titles in obedience and retriever hunt tests.
Abby has trained mostly for field work with a little agility work added. During her first weekend of competition, Abby passed a started hunting retriever test at the Alamo Retriever Club HRC test on Saturday, then earned her Working Certificate (WC) title on Sunday, May 18, 2008, at the Heart of Texas Labrador Retriever Club's spring test.
She earned her AKC Junior Hunter (JH) title by passing 4 tests in 4 tries, ran some derby events in the spring of 2009, then completed her Senior Hunter (SH) title on October 11, 2009 at the Tejas club's hunt test and passed her first master test the following weekend. She earned her Working Certificate Excellent (WCX) title at the Heart of Texas Labrador Retriever Club's spring test on June 6, 2010. She completed her Hunting Retriever (HR) title with a pass of a finished test on September 11, 2010. Her next test was the Tejas Hunting Retriever Club's fall AKC event held October 16-17, 2010. She picked up 14 birds in excellent fashion to complete her Master Hunter title and become our 8th master hunter and fifth generation MH. She was 5 for 5 in upland tests, passing her first test at 13 months of age then going 4 for 4 the next year. She completed her HRCH (Hunting Retriever Champion) at the Tejas Hunting Retriever Club's 25th anniversary hunt on February 5, 2011. She earned a JAM (Judges Award of Merit) at a Qualifying field trial stake with 44 starters on March 11, 2011.
Abby is OFA good with OFA normal elbows. She has been CERF'd normal since 8 weeks of age and is examined annually. She is also genotypically normal for CNM.
