Is your Chrysler Sebring Convertable filling with water?
Ours was. It seemed to be accmulating on the driver's side, just behind
the driver's door. We could hear a sloshing sound after heavy rains.
I checked it out, looking for a clogged drain hole or something like that.
There is a painted body panel at the bottom of the car, that starts at the
rear edge of the doors, and runs to the front edge of the rear wheel well.
I leaned under the car and pounded on that panel with my hand for about
5-10 impacts. Not extremely hard at all. All of the sudden, water
started gushing out where that panel is folded downward toward the ground
and spot-welded to another panel under the car. So it appears that water
is supposed to drain out at the seam between those two panels.
Let me know if this works for you!

Some recent text that I sent to someone having the same flooding problem:
You can bang on it to get it to flow better, lately I've been using
a thin blade of a knife to clean it. If you look at the flange that
sticks down under the car, just in front of the rear wheel, you'll see
an inverted "V" piece that has been cut out of one of the two pieces
of metal that are folded to make the flange. (Hope all that makes sense).
I slip a knife blade up in there, move it around, then pull it out - and
water comes gushing out. In essence, I believe there's a channel in there
that is supposed to drain the water, and that gets blocked with crud.
My theory that I've come up with recently, is that on our car, the weather
stripping that is on the car body, and rubs on the rear window has gotten
old, and has curled back so that is doesn't rub on the window anymore. This
not only lets tons more water pour down the window, inside that body, but it
also lets all sorts of dirt and whatever else get down in there thus
blocking the drain when you need it most.
We've not done anything with the car yet, other than to make sure that
the drain is clear when it rains hard.
And a few pics of the left rear tire, and the problem area:
The trouble area. (3/4MB)
Same area - with thin pocket knife inserted. (3/4MB)
Clean this passageway, beware of gushing water.(3/4MB)
Weather stripping - left-rear window. (3/4MB)
Maybe this weather stripping is the cause?? (3/4MB)
