Technical Publications Manager (now with Intel) "Len Bucuvalas was hired into the Motorola Development Tools group to assist in the development of several technical manuals which apply themselves to the embedded systems controller sector serviced by Motorola. Len's tenure with us extended from 1/97 through 7/98. During his first few months, Len demonstrated several skills in the area of project management, documentation design, MSWord, FrameMaker, and the Acrobat program suite, as well as refined interpersonal skills which he used to interface to our hardware and software engineering development groups. I assigned Len to move from our smaller documentation sets to run the MCUezTM documentation development program. MCUez is a software development tool used by the engineering community to develop code in assembler and the C language, incorporating on-board capabilities to also debug all developed code. MCUez was developed by Hiware (located in Switzerland) with added-value engineering embedded into the package for Motorola. Len was responsible for a small team of writers distributed throughout the Austin, Texas metro area. He was also responsible for interfacing with Hiware, maintaining tight deadlines for market availability, and ensuring the accuracy and delivery of the full documentation set. Len has demonstrated ambition and motivation to learn new technology and then document that technology to a broad audience spectrum. He is a motivated and dedicated documentation professional with whom I have been proud to associate and work with. Should the need arise I would be very happy to rehire Len for any of our documentation needs."

I have found Len to be very responsive to all our needs and enjoyed having him on the Alden team." |

Stratus Computer Corporation (CA) |
Hard-copy available
Stratus Documentation Manager "Len Bucuvalas has worked in my department as a senior technical writer since March 19, 1990. This department is responsible for writing and producing all documentation for Stratus's fault-tolerant UNIX operating system, FTX, and for a selection of communication products. Len initially wrote about a remote STREAMS-based environment. He subsequently became the primary writer about FTX system administration, and he has functioned in this capacity for nearly three years. This is the most critical and volatile set of FTX manuals. Throughout his tenure at Stratus, Len has demonstrated a willingness to accept new and diverse projects, an enthusiasm to learn new skills, and a dedication to complete assigned tasks as scheduled. Although Len had no previous background in UNIX system administration, he readily agreed to take over this formidable writing assignment and to accept personal responsibility for its success. It is a challenging assignment because the writer must process more than 1200 pages of information while ensuring that described procedures are accurate and complete. Errors in system administration documentation can adversely affect system availability, which is a critical issue because continuous system availability is the primary market differentiator for Stratus systems. Len has produced system administration documentation for several major releases, and he regularly provides additional services as requested. Len is consistently cooperative and helpful to me, and he functions as a valuable member of the documentation team." |
