TAM Mission Statement

TAM strengthens our museum community.

TAM Vision Statement

TAM serves our museum community by nurturing and training museum leaders, developing and celebrating the field, and voicing the public worth of museums.

Museums in the Winds of Change: Staying Relevant and Sustainable
The Local Arrangements Committee for the Lubbock 2014 Annual Meeting met on June 10 to continue work on an exciting line-up of activities for the TAM and NMAM combined conference. The theme captures the culture of the South Plains and highlights a common concern among museum professionals - relevance and sustainability.

Wind is a constant to the Southwest and brings both challenges and benefits. Just as a windmill turns into the wind to harness the wind's energy, museums must meet change with a dynamic that fosters relevance and sustainability.

Steadfast as a windmill, our charge as museum professionals is to lead the development and articulate the excitement of what happens when the cultural setting and the public collide and explode with energy.
