General Tournament Rules
1. Contestants do not have to be
members of the Texas Bowfishing Association.
2. Trailering will be allowed but boats
must be at Villages Marina boat ramp at start of tournament.
3. Teams not in line
at quitting time will be penalized 1 fish for every minute late, for a maximum
of 15 minutes, after
that the team will be
disqualified. If a team is late, that team is disqualified from the big fish
division.
4. A team shall have no more than three
persons fishing from the same boat.
5. Each team will be
allowed the use of only (1) boat on the water at any given time. Having a
second boat, in tow,
with or without
power will not be permitted. Using an alternate boat is permissible provided
the contestants notify
the Tournament
Director when each boat is being used and that the registration number of each boat is provided
to the Director.
6. Only these fish
are legal; Carp, Buffalo, Gar, Sucker, Gaspergou, and Bowfin.) SHAD will be
voted on at
beginning of
shoot. Catfish allowed for personal use,
but will not be counted (penalties for mishandled
catfish).
7. All fish must be
taken by fair chase with Texas legal bowfishing equipment only. However, No
crossbows will be
allowed. Gaffs (no longer than
6ft.) may be used to land large fish. Nets are not legal.
8. All protest or
disputes will be settled by a majority vote of Tournament Participants. Protest
Fee $25.00 (A formal
protest, in
writing, must be filed within 20 minutes of the final tabulations. The protest
fee will be refunded if the
protest stands valid.)
9. All teams must be
registered and checked in at the Villages Marina boat ramp 30 minutes prior
to start, unless
specific notice is given to the
Tournament Director for other arrangements.
10. Tournament host, water authorities and
sponsors will not be responsible for accidents.
11. Failure to comply with Tournament Rules
result in disqualification and forfeiture of entry fees.
12. Possession of firearms in boats will not
be permitted.
13. No alcohol will be allowed in boats
during Tournament hours.
14. Scouting will be
allowed prior to the start of the tournament but NO bows will be allowed in
the boats 24 hours
prior to the start time.
15. In the event of a
tie, the heaviest fish taken by either team will determine the winner. It is
the team responsibility
to get big fish weighed.
16. Wade fishing in the
Tournament (leaving the confines of a boat) is legal provided the boat is not
removed from the
water of the tournament site.
17. No boat may make
physical contact with another boat during fishing periods, except in the event of a
mechanical breakdown or an
accident. The circumstances must be reported to the Tournament Director.
18. No chumming or baiting of any kind is
permitted.
19. All boats equipped with fans must have a
safety shroud around the propeller.
20. No wakes are allowed inside of buoys.
Violators will be disqualified from the Tournament.
21. All boats must comply with all safe
boater laws.
22. Only single tip arrows allowed (no gig
tips).
23. All starts are shotgun starts unless
there are 10 boats or more in which case we will use the first in first out
plan
24. Each team must dispose of fish. This does not mean in the ditch on Big Eddy
Road!
Rules WILL be modified as needed and announced at the
Captains Meeting
