In this lab, you use the unformatted text of a business letter:
  1. Copy the text below this box, and paste it into your preferred word-processing software.

On November 30th, 2003, I filed a complaint with Foleys customer service department that the armrests of both the sofas is sagging down and the sofas are not holding shape. Please see attached photos. In January 2004, Foleys customer service department sent a service specialist at our home to inspect the problem. During his visit, he identified that the frames of both the sofas need a replacement. I contacted the customer service again and was told that it will take 4-6 weeks to get the parts required to fix the sofas. I waited for almost 2 months, and then followed-up on April 1st, 2004. I was told that since the sofa collection is discontinued, Foleys couldn't get the required parts to repair the sofas. Therefore, they want me to reselect another sofa.

This is in regard to the leather sofa set that I purchased from Foleys in Lakeline mall, Austin, TX on July 31st, 2003. I purchased three-piece leather sofa set, which included two motion sofas and one recliner at a sale price of $2727.22. Please see the attached receipt. The sofa set has five years of frame and mechanism warranty. I also bought the leather protection for $199.00, which includes five-year leather protection warranty.

I went to the three Foleys stores in Austin, but I did not like anything in the similar price range. The sales representative suggested waiting till July 2004, since new inventory will be on the floor. Again, I browsed through the stores in July, but could not select anything. After talking to the sales representatives, it became apparent to me that Foleys has limited options available for a reclining sofa. Hence, it is difficult to choose a set with features and color I want. The sales representatives also advised that the only good reclining sofa Foleys carry is from “Cherwell”. However, at its current price of $3699.00, the “Cherwell” sofa set is higher than what I paid for my previous set.

Therefore, I request a full refund of $2727.22 + $199.00 or a full replacement of the set with a decent quality set, so that I do not face similar problem again. Your prompt attention would be greatly appreciated. You can contact me by email at myemail@yahoo.com or call me at 512-000-0000.
