Micronians

One of the earliest races to be destroyed by the Legions of Steel were a bizarre race of humanoids known to outsiders as “The Micronians”. The Micronians appear to be human aside from the fact that they are only six inches tall!

The Micronian's technology was about the equivelant of Earth's at the time of contact with the Legions of Steel. But even if their military technology was equal to that of one of the more advanced races like Infranite or Fantasia they most likely still would have been whiped out by the Legions of Steel due to their inferior size and numbers. However, there still survives a small militant group of Micronians who were away from their planet when the Legions of Steel attack came.

Admiral Hunter and his Battalion of elite warriors were conducting tests on an ancient, Alien technology known to them as “Robotechnology”. hyperdrive accident with the Robotech-Carrier “SDF-1” sent he and his troops hurdling through space light years from home. By the time they returned to their home planet it had been destroyed. Lacking the military resources to re-take the planet, Hunter and the SDF-1 fled, looking for allies with whom they could eventually return to their homeland.

The Micronians have since become masters of Robotechnology. Robotech is essentially a military technology by which a pilot, sitting in the head of a giant robot, is able to establish a psychic link to the machine and pilot it as if it were his own body. The Micronians pilot giant war machines (by their standards), which are the rough equivelant of other races’ powered armor. The statistics for their Mecha are shown below.

NOTE ON UPVS: The UPV Costs are given for incorporation with other Junction Point units, so they are based on the Legions of Steel underground game. They are not appropriate for Planetstorm. The jumping ability marked with an asterisk is for Planetstorm reference--jumping is illegal indoors, and so the UPV cost of jumping has not been figured in to the overall UPV cost of the figure.

For the sake of clarification, a “+” General Modifier refers to Heavy Armour and a “-” General Modifier refers to Light Armour.

Finally, although the weapons are described as “blasters” or “Ppsh’s” or such, they are really un-named Robotech weapons that happen to have those characteristics.

Leadership, Command and Hero Points are a function of the pilot, not the Mecha, and so may occur in any of the Mecha types. The cost for a Leadership Point is 10 + the cost of a Hero Point, and the cost of a Command Point is 20 UPV.

Command and Control

The Micronians have a 12 figure Span of Control.

Generally, the Micronians organize their units into LANCES, COMPANIES and BATALLIONS.

A LANCE consists of 4 Mecha (usually of the same general category--light, medium or heavy) led by a CAPTAIN (1 Leadership)

A COMPANY consists of 3 Lances. The COMMAND LANCE is led by a SERGEANT-MAJOR (2 Leadership)

A BATALLION consists of 3 COMPANIES. The HQ LANCE is led by a COLONEL (2 Command, 1 Leadership)
