I remember an old commerial "There's always room for jello". My shack has that sort of look. I'm alsways trying to squeeze another piece of gear in. With table space at a premium the way to go was up. After a trip to my local big box hardware store to pick up some 1/2" threaded stock, washers, nuts and a 1x8, I built the shelf/rack unit shown here to hold my two tube transmitter and three tube superhet along with the power supply and station control/speaker box.
The shelf height can be adjusted by adjusting the nuts. If larger gear is planned, pick up a 1x10 or 1x12 board for the shelves.
