The following is a project to plan, design, format, and build a book on a computer product.
The goal of this project is for you to get some experience developing a template with both paragraph and character tags, formatting text using those tags, creating cross-references, creating index entries, generating tables of contents and indexes, building an entire book. (Note: there is no inddex in the Creative WebCam boklet.)
If this alternative is not to your liking, you can go back to the original:
Description of the document. The book is a 32-page booklet 4-3/4 square. It contains instructions n 4 different languages, but you can choose to do just 2 (or all 4 if you are really into it). Your goal is to create a a document in FrameMaker that looks as much like this model as is reasonable.
Below is a link to the PDF of the booklet. You have a much easier time of it if you copy and past the text into a simple text editor like Notepad++ then copy text from there into FrameMaker. what you'll be creating.
Creative WebCam. This shows you how the book should look, but it is horrible to copy and paste from!
Creative WebCam. This my effort to set up a text-like copy that you can copy and paste with. It has many errors you'll need to proof from.
More to come . . .
Note: To be safe, keep a safe copy of this and all other assignments. Expect to receive confirmation from your instructor that your e-mail attachments have been received. If you don't receive e-mail confirmation in 3 or 4 days, get in touch with your instructor.
